Consists primarily of photocopies of original materials that are still in the possession of Harold Sonnichsen. These items include correspondence with family and friends, genealogical materials regarding the Clifton and Hults families, family photographs, a photocopied scrapbook, a photocopy of a geography school book that once belonged to Henry M. Sonnichsen, the Sonnichsen family memoirs, and photocopies of newspapers from Hancock and Wadena, Minnesota, for various years.

Danish immigrants. Henry Matthew Sonnichsen, son of Momme-Melf and Jette Sonnichsen, was born in Denmark in 1873 and came to America with his family. The Sonnichsens moved from New York to Iowa where they settled, and Henry met and married Mary Hults, daughter of Sam Hults and Nancy Jane Clifton Hults.
